Unused Ozempic pens belong in the refrigerator at 36 to 46 F; the pen in use can live at room temperature below 86 F for up to 56 days. That 56-day clock applies whether you refrigerate the in-use pen or not, and when it runs out you discard the pen even if doses remain. The hard limits: never freeze Ozempic, and never use a pen that has been frozen; keep it away from heat and light; keep the cap on between doses; and do not store it with a needle attached. Heat is the silent killer for travelers. A pen left in a parked car or pressed directly against an ice pack in a cooler can be ruined without looking any different. Inspect before every injection: the liquid should be clear and colorless. Cloudiness, color, or particles mean the pen is done. If you are ever unsure whether a pen stayed in range, replace it rather than gamble on a degraded dose; your pharmacist can usually help with a replacement question quickly.
