What we’re doing
Pymander works with state lawmakers to create a licensing pathway for AI doctors. We have drafted a model bill and we are carrying it state by state.
The first step is narrow on purpose: blood tests and laboratory orders. It is measurable, supervised, and easy to evaluate.
What we’re pushing for
A license for the AI doctor: a legal category that lets a medical AI system practice under real oversight, the same way a physician does. Clear authority, clear accountability, and expansion only as the evidence earns it.
Why
Care is bottlenecked by the supply of clinicians. An AI doctor that can act, not just advise, puts real care within reach of everyone. Licensing is how that happens safely: authority granted in steps, each step proven before the next.
