**With normal kidney function, daptomycin is largely gone from your body about 2 days after your last dose, because its half-life is roughly 8 to 9 hours.** Your kidneys clear most of the drug, so reduced kidney function is the main thing that stretches this out. When creatinine clearance drops below 30 mL/min, the half-life can rise to around a full day, and daptomycin is usually dosed every 48 hours instead of daily. Hemodialysis pulls out only part of a dose, so it does not reset the clock. Blood tests such as creatine kinase are often checked during treatment, and mild lab changes or muscle symptoms can persist for a short time after the last infusion.

- Ask before restarting statins: If a cholesterol drug was paused for your course, confirm the restart date instead of guessing.
- Finish the full course: Stopping early because you feel better lets the infection rebound, even though the drug itself clears in about 2 days.
