**Anifrolumab-fnia injection (Saphnelo) treats moderate to severe systemic lupus erythematosus in adults receiving standard lupus treatment.** It blocks signals from type I interferons, proteins involved in immune activity, to help control your lupus. You receive it as an infusion into a vein every 4 weeks or an injection under your skin once weekly. It is not recommended if you have severe active lupus affecting your kidneys or central nervous system. Your rheumatologist should assess whether it fits your treatment plan, and you should review your medicines and vaccinations before starting.
