Here is what happens at each step in a Pymander consult.
1. You start with a text
No app and no account are needed. You text a number and say what is going on, in your own words. Pymander's AI doctor is free.
2. It asks follow-up questions
Like a clinician, it asks how long the problem has lasted, what makes it better or worse, and about your medications, allergies, and history. Short, honest answers are enough.
3. A safety check runs
Separately from the conversation, a safety layer checks for danger signs. If something looks urgent, you are told to call 911 or go to the ER rather than keep chatting.
4. You get a plan
It explains what your pattern most likely means and what level of care fits: emergency, a same-day visit, or home care with clear signs to watch for.
5. You get a care note
After the consult, Pymander sends a care note summarizing the conversation, which you can share with your own clinician. Pymander is a medical AI system, not a licensed doctor, and it does not prescribe or order tests.
Common questions
How does an AI doctor work?
You describe your symptoms, it asks follow-up questions, a safety layer checks for danger signs, and it tells you what level of care fits. Pymander also sends a care note you can share with your clinician.
Do I need an app or account?
No. You can start a Pymander consult by text with no app and no account.
What happens if it detects something serious?
It tells you to seek emergency or urgent in-person care. If you think it is an emergency, call 911.
Does it remember my history?
Pymander keeps your history so later consults can build on earlier ones.
Can it prescribe or order tests?
No. A licensed clinician handles prescriptions and orders.
